I am an absolute nerd when it comes to elections. I get just as excited for the midterms and presidential elections as I do for the Super Bowl. So, as you can imagine, I was on the edge of my seat all through election night.

It's been a while since I was this invested in politics. After the highly contentious presidential election between Joe Biden and Donald Trump, and the subsequent insurrection at the Capitol, I needed a break. I was watching every move, listening to every podcast, and reading every article. It was just too much. But now, with the midterms behind us, I'm back in the game.

There was talk of a "red wave" where the Republicans would take over the Senate and House, making it tough for President Biden. But that didn't happen. I think it's because a lot of conservatives got too deep into their ideology and started believing in conspiracy theories. That led to all the election denying nonsense.

One thing I've noticed is that the House can be a bit of a pressure cooker, while the Senate serves as more of a cool-down. It's important to have both to keep our government in check.

All in all, I think President Biden is doing a pretty good job despite some challenges. And I can't help but wonder who might be next in line to take over. Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar, there are a lot of possibilities. But for now, I'm just excited to see what happens next in the world of politics. It's always an unpredictable ride!
